Fred Greco Ii

Fred W. “Freddie” Greco II, age 57, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018 surrounded by his loving family after a very courageous battle with cancer for over 20 years.

A resident of Erie all of his life, Freddie was born on November 30, 1960 a son of Fred and Audrey (Braine) Greco of Erie, PA.

Freddie was a graduate of McDowell High School, where he competed and won the PIAA State Gymnastics Championship and was also a successful coach.

He had a long career working for Burns Appliance for his great friend Bob Burns and as a member of the PA Local Painters Union 549. By far his greatest passion and career, which he never considered a day of work, as a successful life-long musician, who played in many bands.

Freddie has been an inspiration to so many with his strong will for life, love, family and friends. Freddie had the most contagious smile, and always had a way to bring out the smile and glow in each person.

He was preceded in death by his soulmate, Edie (Houck) Greco; sister in law, Tracy Houck Fisher; father in law, Gary Houck; nephew, Jack Patrick Greco; maternal grandparents, Ann and Clarence Braine; and paternal grandparents, Dominick and Kathryn Greco.

Freddie is survived by his three children and two grandchildren who are all absolutely the loves of his life; Rhiannon (Greco) Levinson (Jake), Dominick Greco, Kristy Kobal, and his granddaughters, Edie and Isabella Levinson; his siblings, David Greco (Mary), Ronald Greco (Lori), Kathy Onspaugh (Victor); and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W 26^th Street (at Powell Ave) wearing your best tie-dye shirts and jeans on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Tony Allaruzzo officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the Burton Westlake Funeral Home.
