June 22, 1939 — July 15, 2015

Frank "Sonny" A. Margiotti, Jr, age 76, of Moon Township, PA died on Wednesday July 15, 2015 in Erie. Born in Pittsburgh, on June 22, 1939, a son of the late Frank A. Sr., and Carmella Gallo Margiotti.

Sonny attended Sto-Rox High School in Stowe Township, McKee’s Rocks, PA. Employed as a driver, Sonny worked as a heavy equipment operator during construction of the Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Station, and later drove a school bus for the City of Pittsburgh School District, which he enjoyed very much, from 1980 until retiring in 2000 after 20 years of service.

Sonny considered Sara’s Campground in Erie a second home for over 30 years with his wife Barbara, and with his “girl” Joyce from 2007, until the time of his passing. Sara’s Campground made him happy. He was also a crazy mad awesome Steelers fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Barbara Ann Selzer Margiotti, who passed on August 20, 2005; a daughter, Michelle Schiller; a sister, Dolores Kownacki; and his brother in law and “partner in crime” Jimmy Verbonach.

Sonny is survived by his two daughters, Trisha Margiotti and her husband Lee Kriger, of Baldwin, PA, and Karen Chwilka and her husband Ken, of Moon Township, PA; one sister, Mary “Toots” Anderson of Robinson Twp and a sister in law Bernice Verbonach of MD. Sonny is also survived by his “girl” of 8 years, Joyce Haas. Left to cherish his memory are the “lights of his life”, whom he spoiled, grandchildren Lea, Kenny and Dani. He was also known as “PapPap” to his grandchildren and “Papa” to Joyce’s seven grandchildren.
