Francis "Frank" S. Hanick

Francis “Frank” S. Hanick, age 61, of Erie, passed away on April 14, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born on June 27, 1961 in Rochester, NY a son of the late Richard & Mary Hanick. 

Frank graduated from Springstead High School in Springhill, Florida.  He served in the US Navy.  He worked as a nurse at St Vincent Hospital and Bayada Pediatric.

He was a “handyman” and could fix anything.  He enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows.  He loved mustangs and jeeps, gunsmithing, woodworking, and bird watching.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors and fishing.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grand-daughter Bailey Grace, a brother Steve Hanick, a sister Ruth Pressley and his in-laws who he was close to Richard & Theresa Ambuske of Salamanca, NY.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years Kathleen Ambuske Hanick; two sons, Mark Hanick (Heather) and Nicholas Hanick; one daughter, Kaitlyn Hanick all of Erie, PA; three grandsons Cayden, Easton, and Owen Hanick of Erie, PA; a brother Joe Hanick and sister Cathy Wentzel of Seattle, Washington.  He is further survived by four nieces.  His beloved pet bird Cockatiel “Charlie” and cat “Kitty”.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th Street on Thursday April 20, 2023 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 p.m with Military Honors.
