Frances Thompson

Frances Thompson, age 90, of Erie, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born in Oil City, PA, a daughter of the late Henry and Irene Knight.

Frances enjoyed quilting, doing puzzles, shopping, Chinese food, taking walks, and listening to country music. She always took care of others, and never met a stranger, she cared for everyone she met. Above all, Frances loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Hall, Mary Witt (Timothy), and Blazie Sypin Jr. She is further survived by her sister Patricia McInchak (Tom), 17 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Thompson, a daughter Irene Santiago, and a son Henry Sypin. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Harold, Dora, Opal, Robert, Isabelle, Alfred, Albert, Quentin, Rosie, and Leroy.

Friends are invited to call on the family Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown. 602 West 10^th Street, Erie. A funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, April 5, at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Mill Village Cemetery in Mill Village, PA.
