Florence Mabel Roth Fisher, 91, formerly of Dufford Terrace and 324 E. 25th St., died Tues., March 13, 2012 at Ball Pavilion at Brevillier Village. She was born Sept. 3, 1920 in Erie, daughter of the late Andrew and Olga Tetzlaff Roth. A 1938 graduate of Academy High School, she graduated from Erie Commercial College and worked as a secretary for Travelers Insurance Co., for Penn Union Electric which later became Teledyne for nine years and for General Electric Corp. for 14 years, retiring in 1982. She was also affiliated with Protected Home Services. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Young at Heart, Business and Professional Women's Assoc., Thiel Women's Club of Erie and the Senior Center on W. 8th St. She enjoyed traveling with her family and playing cards and Bingo.
Survivors include two daughters, Judie Fisher Thompson Adam and Kathy Fisher Olszewski and husband Frank, all of Erie; two grandchildren, Bill Thompson and wife Jill of Arlington, TN and Ryan Adam of Pgh.; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Cole and Brandon Thompson of Arlington, TN; a niece, Cheryl Cresson and husband John of Exton, PA; and several cousins. Two brothers, Karl E. and Andrew F. Roth, preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of service there at 4 p.m. The Rev. G. H. Trumbo of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate. Private burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2216 Peach St., Erie, PA 16502.
