Florence (Flossie) V. Faulhaber, age 98, of Erie passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at Fairview Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Erie on May 10, 1917. To her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all their friends she was known with great affection and love as “Umma”
Florence was a lifelong resident of Erie and along with her late husband Louis, had managed the dining room at the Erie Yacht Club and the Peach Tree restaurant at the Carlisle Department store. She was one of the longest living residents at St. Joseph Apartments and enjoyed baking with the ladies there, playing cards, and shopping.
She loved her friends and enjoyed following the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Flossie always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Faulhaber II and a sister, Dorothy Rajinski.
She is survived by her children; Penny Jones and her husband David and Louis J. Faulhaber III and his wife Becky, all of Erie. She is the sister of Charles Sparks and his wife Betty of Erie and is further survived by 5 grandchildren; Kathy Roach and her husband Michael, Jeff Jones and his wife Amy, all of Erie; Chris Jones of Winter Garden, FL; Andy Faulhaber of Pittsburgh and Devin Faulhaber of Erie. Four great-grandchildren; David and Elizabeth Roach and Nash and Jack Jones along with 12 nieces and nephews..
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Monday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
