Evelyn Maki

Evelyn Laurila Maki age 97 of Erie, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, December 13, 2017.

She was born in Erie on May 8^th, 1920 in Erie, daughter to the late Edward and Nanni Sipola Laurila.

Evelyn was a 1938 graduate from Strong Vincent High School, and did secretarial and stenographic work before marrying.  She loved reading and animals.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Emil Albert Maki; her brother, Paul Laurel of Erie; two sisters, Elsie Perkon of Encinitas, CA and Irene Cunningham of Long Island, NY.

She is survived by her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

According to Evelyn’s wishes, no calling hours will be observed.  Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10^th Street, Erie.

Memorials may be made to the Erie Zoological Society, 423 West 38^th Street, Erie, PA 16508 or the charity of one’s choice.
