Evelyn Flowers

Evelyn Faber Flowers age 66, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Coral Gables, FL on December 16, 1951 a daughter of the late Charles and Mary White Hines.

She graduated from Cambridge Springs High School class of 1969 and Edinboro University where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973.

Evelyn worked in Erie County as a court reporter along with her mother and sister in their family owned firm of Hines, Muhanna, & Flowers.

Evelyn loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed lifelong learning, listening to music, and in her later years living at the beach and simply living life. She was always smiling, gentle and kind. Her presence lit up the room.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charles Hines.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Gary A. Flowers; three daughters, Jessica Kurland (Kevin) of Montclair, NJ, Mary Triana (Brad)  and Cecelia Hollands (Casey) and a son Matthew Flowers (Alexa Luzcak)  all of Erie; and four sisters, Cynthia (Philip) Chase, Barbara (Ron) Moline,Cecelia (Azzam) Muhanna, and Margaret (Russ) Taylor. Evelyn is also survived by grandchildren Jack and Vivienne Kurland and Eli Triana. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held Saturday March 3, 2018 at Luther Memorial Church 225 West 10^th St. Erie, PA 16501 in the Faith Chapel at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, PA Keystone Chapter 1501 Reedsdale St. Pittsburgh, PA 15233, or a  charity of one’s choice.
