Evelyn Donithan

Evelyn L. Donithan, age 89, of Erie, died on Thursday Feb. 25, 2016 at UMPC Hamot. She was born in Cambridge Springs, PA on June 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Forest and Marian Jewell Peters.

Evelyn was a strong and brave woman, having faced adversity all her life starting with the death of her mother at a young age. She worked at Croft Laundry Mat for 18 years. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Scott Lubman and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a son, Floyd Donithan of Erie; two daughters: Patricia Sharrer of Marietta, GA and Juanita Scott of Pontiac, MI; a brother, Howard Peters of Cambridge Springs; three sisters: Mary Gibson of Youngsville, PA, Martha Baker of Erie, and Lois Hines of Martinsville, IN; four grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great granddaughters.

A memorial service will be held on Monday April 4th at 11am at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd. Burial will follow in Whispering Pines Cremation Garden.
