Eugene F. Homoki, age 83, of Girard, passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2014 surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 30, 1930, the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Drago Homoki in Duquesne, PA. He first moved to Erie in 1975. A lifelong retailer, he was retired vice president and general manager of Kaufmann’s and May Company (Macy’s). He had a management style to always develop the best in people. He was co-founder of Erie Fine Dining with his friend Rob Schultz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons Glenn and Brian and brother-in-law Gus Damianos.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Juliette Damianos Homoki, son Gregory and his wife Karen, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandchildren Adam and his wife Phoebe, Melanie, Molly, Nicole and Frank, brother Frankie and his wife Marilyn, brothers- in-law Alex Damianos and Syl Damianos and his wife Lu; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family is grateful for Eugene’s many friends in Pittsburgh and Erie, especially lifelong friends Eddie Singer and Don Germuska.
