Eugene Dobrzynski

Eugene F. (Gene Dobro) Dobrzynski age 85 of Fairview, went to be with our Lord on Sunday May 16, 2021.

He was born in Erie on October 6, 1935, the son of the late Ignatius and Clara Konkol Dobrzynski.

Eugene graduated from St. John’s School and from Academy High School, and attended Toledo

University. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958.

He was employed at Bearings, Inc., Erie Bearings and Kaman Bearings.  He then started his own business,

Underground Sprinkler Systems, in 1977, which is still in business today. In addition, Eugene started one of Erie’s first home inspection companies, Better Home Inspections.  

 He was a member of Holy Cross Church in Fairview, the Holy Name Society and Siebenberger Club.

Eugene enjoyed fishing and traveling, but mostly enjoyed time spent with his family and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by his son Michael A Dobrzynski, and his sisters

Dorothy and Molly Rogowski. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 ½ years, Mary Ann (Perschler) Dobrzynski, sons James Dobrzynski

and his wife Kim of Albright, WV and Mark Dobrzynski and his wife Laura of Rolling Meadows, IL; his

daughters, Patricia Billings and her husband Michael of Edinboro and Carol Ann Dobrzynski of Erie; and

his brother Donald Day (Anne Grucza) of Appleton, WI.

He is further survived by his adoring grandchildren, Jessica and Jonathan Dobrzynski; Mikaela Billings,

Monica (Billings) Kelly, and Michael Eugene Billings; Zachary, Brittany and Brianne Dobrzynski; and

Brendon and Jaiden Howland. Further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, whose lives he

touched in so many ways.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services at West Ridge, 3108 West

26^th Street at Powell Avenue on Friday from 3pm to 7pm and are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial

Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Road, Fairview on Saturday at 10am with Rev. Tom Tyler officiating. 

Burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
