Ethel Weaver

Ethel C. Weaver age 97, of Lake City, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Edinboro Manor.

She was born in Buck Run, PA, on July 5, 1920, a daughter of the late Lester and Mary Ruthanna Gaul Peffer.

Ethel graduated from Marion Center High School and she had worked for Town Square, Rich’s and Maple Doughnuts.  She liked gardening, working in her yard and needlepoint. She loved nature and watching the wild animals from her window of her home.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters: Theda Daugherty and Grace Heberling; an infant brother, shortly after birth; a grandson, Mark Clough; a granddaughter, Cheryl Clough; and a son in law, Stanley Mejak.

Ethel is survived by her five daughters: Janet Craig of Albion; Louella Brown of Girard; Darlene Shields of Erie; Esther (Bill) Ramey of Waterford; and Vivian Mejak of Vermillion, OH; eleven grandchildren: Theresa, Tim, Gail, Annette, John, Bill, Ken, Allen, Jason, Roger, and Tammy; many great and great great grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. Girard on Thursday from 4pm until the time of service at 7pm with Pastor Steve Crowl officiating.

Burial will be on Friday in Mahoning Union (Marchand) Cemetery in Punxsutawney, PA.
