Ethel Pierce

Ethel Pierce, age 71, of Erie, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at home where she was cared for by her family.

She was born in San Diego, California on May 12, 1951, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Crabtree Mullaley.

Ethel graduated from Helix High School and was the last graduating class from Villa Maria College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree.

She went on to work as a health educator at Florence Crittenton Home where she took a lot of pride in helping teenage mothers learn the skills to be good parents. She then worked at the Barber National Institute for many years.  She was an avid crafter and reader. She loved crocheting blankets and slippers for everyone and also enjoyed making jewelry.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Pierce, a brother, Paul Mullaley, sister Belinda O’Connell, as well as her other set of parents James and Elaine Luce and a son-in-law, Lavone Heidelberg Sr.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Luce (Nate), Tiffany Luce and Michaela (James) Defoy; and their father, Randy Luce, all of Erie. She is further survived by thirteen grandchildren, DeLisia and Allan Luce, Jasinia and Julissa Heidelberg, Morgan Murray and James, Tristan and Rowan Defoy, Larajah Palotas, Lavone and John Heidelberg, Mariah and Jaden Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Mia, Aleena, Kiya and Zhuri Luce, all of Erie; five brothers, Patrick, Mike, Lester, Bill Mullaley, of Texas, Brian Mullaley of Erie, Steve (Mary) Luce of Erie, a sister, Nellie Mullaley of Texas, and her foster mother, Sue McClellan of California who was very near and dear to her heart.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510 on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 5 p.m. until the time of service there at 7 p.m. The service will be livestreamed https://www.facebook.com/BurtonQuinnScott.  Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery will held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
