Esther Tregler

Esther L. Kaetzel Tregler, age 101, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Elmwood Gardens.

Born in Galion, OH on February 11, 1921, the daughter of the late Samuel and Agnes Schierbaum Kaetzel.

She had attended Baldwin College. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant.

Since 1972, she had been the co-owner of the Tregler Gallery at 3^rd and Cascade Streets, which was established with her husband, Robert.

She played the French Horn with the Erie Philharmonic for over 20 years.  She was very active bridge player at the Mercy Center. She was a member of the Tuesday morning music club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Tregler, on October 15, 1988; a brother, Samuel Kaetzel & his wife, Reka; and a sister, Miriam Kaetzel.

She is survived by a son, Carl Tregler and Karen, of Erie; two daughters, Kathryn Tregler, of Sterling Heights, MI, and Susan Tregler-Locke and her husband Richard, of Waterford, PA; two grandsons, Jeffrey Tregler and his daughter, Kali Tregler, both of Erie; and Michael Tregler, of Ojai, CA, and his children with Cindy, Candace and Cody Tregler, of CA.  Esther is also survived by good friends, Judy Letchner, of Baltimore, MD; Mary and Urban LaRiccia, of Erie; and Thomas Heise, of Glen Dale, WV.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc, 602 West 10^th St., on Monday, January 30, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and are invited to a 10:00 A.M. service there on Tuesday with Reverend Chris Weichman officiating. Private burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
