Esther L. Mang, age 95, of Erie and formerly of Nu Mine, PA, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Manchester Commons.
She was born August 26, 1925 in Corbettown, PA a daughter of the late Clayton Sydney and Hazel Dora Grove Snyder. She graduated from Cowanshannock Township High School in 1943.
During World War II she worked for Erie Resistor and was a bookkeeper for Rapid Transit Co., Inc.. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and the Classy Red Hatters. She was a member of several bowling leagues.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband James C. Mang in 2000, her sisters: Mrs. Joseph (Florence) Bariss; Mrs. Russell (Catherine) Saxman, and Mrs. Elemyra Maher; and her stepmother, Freda Simpson Snyder.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charlene McCartney, and her husband William, Clearfield, PA; three sons: Robert S. Mang, of Erie; James C. Mang and his wife Linda, Erie; Deacon John D. Mang and his wife Tammie, Erie, PA; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sister in law, Mrs. Richard (Winifred) Buckel, Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott, Cremation and Funeral Services at West Ridge, 3801 West 26th Street at Powell Avenue on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service at 11am. with Rev. Susan Speakman officiating. The Service can be view on BurtonQuinnScott facebook live. Interment to follow in Erie Cemetery.
