Esther L. Kelly, age 96, passed away March 12, 2017 at Orchard Manor in Grove City, PA.
She was born on 7/22/20 in Erie, PA, the daughter of the late Chester Luther and Mattie Wolf Luther. On July 1, 1939, she married Roger M. “Rich” Kelly who preceded her in death on September 1, 1978.
Mrs. Kelly moved from Millcreek to Cambridge Springs, where she worked for Crawford County Office of Aging as Cambridge Springs Senior Center Director for 8 years until her retirement.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, most recently Cambridge Springs First United Methodist, and an active member of the Cambridge Springs Public Library.
Surviving family include daughter Pat Kelly of Meadville, two sons Roger Kelly and wife Kathy of Albany, NY, and Tom Kelly and wife Susan of Grove City, PA; daughters-in-law Rita Kelly of Hamilton, VA and Sheila Kelly of Erie; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Brother Ted Luther, sons Don and Jerry Kelly, and companion of 24 years, Clifton Hipple, preceded her in death.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cambridge Springs Public Library, 158 McClellan Street, Cambridge Springs, PA 16403.
