Ernest Turco

Ernest J. Turco, age 82, of Lawrence Park, passed away on Thursday December 27, 2012 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Erie on May 10, 1930, the son of the late Ernesto and Concetta Destefano Turco.

Ernest served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Church. He was an Inspector at Erie Malleable Iron for 33 years, and served as Recording Secretary for the Union for 21 years, and was a Union Steward for 20 years.

He enjoyed fishing, walking, playing Pinochle, Poker and beating his daughters in 500 Rummy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Pauline Turco and many brothers and sisters.

He is survived by five daughters: Leslie Scholz, Sandy Wilhelm and her husband Tim, Becky Turco and her fiancé Mike Balliett, and Carrie Breski all of Erie, and Wendy Turco of Rochester, NY; grandchildren: Miko and Alexandria Breski and Bill Scholz.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 pm with Rev. James P. McCormick officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
