Ernest Scott, age 75, of Girard, passed away, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Millcreek Community Hospital.
He was born in Corry, on February 25, 1940, a son of the late Howard Scott and Mavis Debarr Nichols.
Ernest graduated from Wattsburg High School and then entered the Army where he was a cook. He worked at Erie Strayer as steel worker and security for Doyle. Ernest was an avid mechanic. He was a “jack of all trades and master of none”. Ernest was a collector of anything and everything. He loved everything western and was a big Elvis fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Loretta Nichols and Ruth Darling; two brothers: George Nichols and “Uncle Neal” Ross.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Burdick Scott; four daughters: Chrystal Haffley and her husband Dennis, Renee’ Richardson and her husband Scott, Tracy Scott, Robin Waters and her companion, Peter Baldwin; and son, Ernest “Buddy” Scott and his companion, Sarah Lawrence; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Sabol and her husband, Dave; two brothers: James Nichols and his wife Denise, and Kenny Nichols and his wife Joyce. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard, on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm., and are invited to attend a funeral service there in the All Faith Chapel on Friday at 10 a.m..
