Erin Elizabeth Feehley-Maus, age 36, passed of natural causes on February 22, in her beloved NYC. Affectionately referred to as “Junior” by her dad, she was the only child of David Maus and Alice Feehley-Maus. Born on July 19, 1985 in Idaho Falls, ID. Erin grew up in Charlottesville, VA and Watchung NJ. These happy days were filled with outdoor adventures, horseback riding, theater, dance and lots of friends.
While earning her degree at Wagner College Erin studied abroad at the Paris-Sorbonne University, the University of Notre Dame and the University of Cambridge, England. Upon graduation the “city life” had captured Erin’s cosmopolitan spirit and she stayed on Staten Island where she’s lived for the past 15 years. Erin was currently studying to become a New York City tour guide to share her passion for the city.
Her parents enthusiastically fostered her adventurous spirit with the love of travel. Erin daringly experienced the culture of sixteen countries, walked the Great Wall of China, kissed a camel in Morocco and learned to drive a standard in Hungary.
Erin was a free spirit and a bright light wherever she went. As an eternal optimist, she lived her life authentically and viewed it through her own kaleidoscope, full of color and vibrancy. She challenged those around her to grow through her advocacy for equality and compassion for the underdog.
Erin leaves behind many memories filled with silly songs, her quick wit and brilliant comedic comebacks. Singing in a band, playing the harmonica, teaching yoga, and meeting up with friends were just a few of the facets of this beautiful and interesting woman.
Erin was expecting her first child in August and they will be forever missed by her 19 aunts and uncles, 20 first cousins, countless friends and her numerous colleagues in the floral industry including those most recently at Julia Testa Flowers.
Erin is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Bill and Beverly Feehley and paternal grandparents Bill and Pat Maus, uncles Tom and Don Maus, aunt Mary Pat Maus and her best friend and cousin, Mark Allison.
Knowing Erin’s tenderness towards animals please feel free to make a donation in her memory to your local animal shelter.
May all that loved her find peace in knowing Erin was an organ donor and still lives on through others.
