Erich Pirschel

May 16, 1922 — October 2, 2013

Erich G. Pirschel, age 91 of Erie passed away on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at Millcreek Manor.
 
He was born in Grina Gora, East Germany on May 16, 1922 to the late Karl Wolthe and Bertha Pirschel.
 
Erich and his wife immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1952 and have been living in Erie since 1953.
 
Erich was employed as an auto mechanic for Contemporary Motorcars, retiring in 2002 as a Mercedes-Benz master technician.
 
He was a member of Luther Memorial Church and served as an usher for the former Bethany Lutheran Church.
 
In addition to his parents, Erich was preceded in death by his stepfather, Adolf Muller; brothers, Heinz and Helmuth Muller.
 
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Erika Dingeldein Pirschel, whom he married November 6, 1948; son, Michael P. Pirschel and wife Diane of Erie; grandsons, Erich Pirschel and Heather of Erie and Christopher Pirschel and wife Rachael of Bridgeville, PA; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
 
Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street on Friday 7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Officiating Rev. William Coleman.  Private interment Erie County Memorial Gardens.  Memorials may be made to Luther Memorial Church, 225 West 10th Street, Erie, PA 16501.
