Eric Michael Fenstermacher, 69, of Millcreek, passed away Friday, August, 13 at home after battling chronic illness. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, “Big E” managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final days, he was surrounded by his children and grandson, who he adored more than anything else in the world.
Eric was born July 28, 1952 in Erie, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Edwin (Reggie) and Shirley Fenstermacher. He married the love of his life, the late Cynthia (Cindy) Fenstermacher, on October 26, 1974 and spent 35 years together before Cindy’s passing on July 21, 2009. Eric was a proud member of McDowell High School’s Class of 1971 and had worked at Erie Bronze and Aluminum before retiring in 2016.
Eric is survived by two children, Kevin Fenstermacher and Robyn Fenstermacher, and was a proud Papa to grandson Sterling; three brothers, Mark Fenstermacher, Kurt Fenstermacher and Reggie’s "favorite son", John Snyder, along with sisters-in-law Pam Fenstermacher, Kathe Fenstermacher and Cheryl Snyder. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Eric was preceded in death by brother Victor, who passed away on October 24, 1956.
