Emma Sawtelle

Emma “Betty” Yesko Guriel Sawtelle, age 94, of Erie, passed away January 24, 2021 at Forestview Skilled Nursing Center.

She was born in Oakesville, NY, on November 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Michael and Susie Demko Yesko.

A proud employee of General Electric Company, she worked in various departments in her 30- year tenure.  She was a devout member of St. Andrew Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Matthew Guriel; her second husband, John “Jack” S. Sawtelle; son, David Guriel and her eight siblings, John, Joseph, Michael, George and Andrew Yesko, and Anna Cody, Margaret Rolih and Susan Caves.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Carol Vogt, of Midland, NC and her husband, Fred; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc., Downtown, 602 West 10th Street, Erie.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
