Emiliya Martirosova, age 87, of Erie, died Monday, August 1, 2016 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Baku, USSR on October 29, 1928, a daughter of the late Maria and Artem Makarov.
Emiliya was highly educated and worked as an Economist in the Soviet Union. She immigrated with her family to the United States and settled in Erie, PA 25 years ago.
Emiliya was full of love, and was the greatest mother, sister, grandmother, friend, taking care of everyone. She was beautiful, kind, caring, wise and always was ready to help many who needed her advice and help. She always kept in contact with her extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Levon Martirosov, with whom she had lived 35 happy years and had 2 beautiful children.
Survivors include her daughter Natalya Martirosova and her husband Martuni Agadzhanov, her son Aram Martirosov and his wife Zoya Martirosova and grandchildren Natalia and Maria Martirosova, her beloved sister Margarita Makarova and her husband Maksim Dzhavakhyan, a nephew Eduard Dzhavakhyan and his son Artem Dzhavakhyan, who was like a grandson to her.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road on Wednesday August 3rd from 6 to 8 pm and attend a service there on Thursday August 4th at 2pm. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
