Emilie Byrtus Kasper, age 94, formerly of Lake City, passed away Thursday February 23, 2017 at Manchester Commons.
She was born in the City of Virginia, Minnesota on December 22, 1922, the daughter of the late George and Mary Gorniak Byrtus.
Mrs. Kasper attended the Gardner School in Waterford, PA and had been employed as an assembler at Marx Toys for over 23 years, and had worked for several local farmers. She was a member of Drake Town Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking.
In addition to her parents, Emilie was preceded in death by her husband George “Jerk” Kasper, who died on August 2, 1991; two brothers, Andrew Byrtus and John Byrtus; and many brothers and sisters in law.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Kuhns of Fairview; a son, Dennis Kasper of Waterford; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Kasper, Stephen Kasper and George Kuhns (Stacie) and children Taylor, Riley, and Kacie; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East in Girard on Sunday from 1 to 4 pm and are invited to attend a service there in Burton’s All Faith’s Chapel on Monday at 11am.
Burial will be in Girard Cemetery.
