Elsie Carlson

June 19, 1935 — August 6, 2016

Elsie I. Carlson, 81, formerly of West 38th Street, died on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Abington Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on June 19, 1935, in Erie, daughter of the late John and Jennie Anderson Carlson.  A lifelong resident of Erie, she was a dial operator for Owens-Brockway for 43 years retiring in 1997.  Elsie was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church and SVEA Lodge, No. 296, VASA Order of America; and a former member of the Ladies Lutheran Bowling League.

Survivors include a brother, Bertil Carlson and wife Miriam of Laurel, MD; a niece, Cynthia Carlson Wagoner and husband Larry of Ellicott City, MD; a nephew, Michael Carlson and wife Megan of Westminster, MD; four grandnieces and grandnephews, John and Michelle Wagoner of Ellicott City, MD and Alexander and Analynn Carlson of Westminster, MD; several cousins; and a devoted friend, Cheryl Brown of Erie.

Friends may call at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street, Friday, August 12, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service there at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Kristen Papson of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church will officiate.  Burial will be at Erie Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1603 West 32nd Street, Erie, PA 16508.
