Eloise Lewis Foster, age 90, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at her residence.
She was born in Lyman, Mississippi on October 31, 1925, daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Ella) Starks Robinson and Stepfather Percy Jenkins.
Eloise was a nurse’s aid at the former Erie Geriatric Hospital, now Pleasant Ridge Manor West, and also Pleasant Ridge Manor East until her retirement.
She was a former member of the Community Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Usher board. Eloise is currently a member of the New Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she serves on the usher board, Sunday school, Mother’s Board, Wednesday Prayer meeting, and was very active as a missionary worker.
She was always willing to help someone. She loved her family very much, especially when she had a chance to entertain in her home for family gatherings and birthdays. Eloise loved reading the Bible.
Eloise was a very stylish dresser, loved watching TV soap operas, traveling and taking cruises.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Foster, and one daughter, Carolyn Moyer, one sister, Eloise Sparks, one brother Sylvester Page, and sister-in-law Flora Page.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen Smith of Erie; eight grandchildren: Sonia Rositter, of San Francisco, CA, Hope Smith, Jeffrey Smith, both of Erie, Jamie Knight also of Erie; Cevin Smith of Charleston, SC; Cheryl Jackson, Darren Moyer and Carlton Moyer, all of Silver Spring, MD; 16 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and her church family members, and Christian friends.

Friends may call at the Morning Star Baptist Church, 327 East 23rd St. on Tuesday December 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Reverend James Stapp officiating and Pastor Tomes Quinn eulogizing.
Burial will be at the Erie County Memorial Gardens.
