Ella Quien Brown

March 3, 1925 — May 28, 2012

     Ella Louise "Weezie" Jones Quien Brown, 87, formerly of Erie, died Monday, May 28, 2012 in Jacksonville, FL.  She was born March 3, 1925, in Callahan, FL, daughter of the late Pasco and Wilma Braddock Jones.  She worked at Loblaws in Erie for 20 years.  Ella was a former member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Erie and was the type of person that was always helping others.

     She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard E. Quien, Sr.; her second husband, Algyreen Brown; a brother, John Pasco Jones; and three sisters, Clara Bell Brown, Lorraine Johnson and Ester Price Mizell.

     Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann Wise of Jacksonville, FL; two sons, Richard E. Quien, Jr. and wife Diane of Erie and John W. Quien and wife Kathy of Strongville, OH; two sisters, Carrie Alvarez and Emily Howard and husband Charles; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

     Friends are invited to a celebration of Ella's life at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 3968 Hershey Rd., Erie, on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald Freebourn officiating.  A committal service will follow in Erie Cemetery, Section 10.  Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 3968 Hershey Road, Erie, PA 16506 or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St.   

     Additional services were held at Lakeview Christian Fellowship, 8300 Merrill Rd., Jacksonville, FL, Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Taylor, grandson-in-law of Ella, officiating.
