Elizabeth Henry

Elizabeth Henry age 90, of Wattsburg and Sun City West, AZ passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born on July 22, 1924, daughter of the late Elias and Fern Dorman Herrmann.

Elizabeth graduated from Wesleyville High School. She worked at Erie Resistor, the Boston Store and Duggan Rider. She and her husband were lifelong dairy farmers, operating the family farm in Wattsburg. She supported her husband both at the farm and at the many farming organizations he was involved with. Elizabeth was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Green Township and the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West where she was a member of the Elizabeth Circle.

She was a great seamstress, gardener and cook. She loved to travel and enjoyed swimming. She enjoyed spending time with her “club girls” (including Sophie Dombrowski of Wesleyville) who have been meeting monthly since they were 18. Most of all she was a kind and loving mother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin M. Henry in August of this year; a son Thomas Henry and infant sister Josephine; a sister Catherine Rossman; and two brothers Eugene and Donald Herrman.

She is survived by a daughter; Sherry Lynn Runser and her husband Howard of Texas; two sons, Brian Henry and his wife Georgina of North East and Robert Henry of Union City; 11 grandchildren, Kim, Tom, Danny, Steve, Pat, Kevin, Laura, Phillip, Jason, Chris and Emily; 15 great grandchildren; good friends, Dick and Dorothy Brown and Lucille Urash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home 2532 Norcross Road on Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Gallina officiating.

Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
