Elizabeth “Betty” Chapman Reinhardt Watts, 93, passed away peacefully on March 18,2024 at Sarah Reed Senior Living. She was born January 11, 1931, daughter of the late James and Juanita Simpson Chapman. She was a graduate of Upper Darby HS, class of 1948, and the University of Pennsylvania Thomas Evans Dental School, class of 1951. She practiced dental hygiene for over 46 years in Philadelphia, Dayton, OH, Meadville, PA and with Dr. Anthony Alleruzzo in Fairview, PA.
Betty was a past member of St. Jude the Apostle Church. She volunteered at Presque Isle State Park and the Hamot Aid Society and was a past member of the Millcreek Council of Republican Women. She enjoyed her pets, reading, gardening, traveling, and playing cards, especially bridge, and she loved spending time with her “Red Hatter” friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband G. Peter Reinhardt and their son David Reinhardt, her second husband Gary Watts, her sister Jean Treyens and brother-in-law Ray Treyens.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Wagner (Dave) of Erie, Patti Olivier (John) of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandsons, Robert (Alicia) and Peter Wagner (Kate) of Erie, Sam Wagner of Greensboro, NC, Andy Olivier of Jersey City, NJ, and Sean Olivier (Janelle)of Cleveland, OH. She was a proud great-grandmother to Annabelle, Hallie, and Landon Wagner, and baby boy Olivier who is arriving in June. Also surviving are stepson Steven Watts (Julie) of North East, PA, stepdaughter Michelle Wingerter of Erie; step grandchildren, Jacob, Colin, and Madeline Watts, and Alyssa and Paige Wingerter; brother-in-law Jack Watts (Kathy) and several nieces and nephews.
Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, Sarah Reed Senior Living and Aseracare for their support and compassion in her final days.
Friends may call at St. Patrick Church, 130 E. 4th St., Erie on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 10:00, followed by a service there at 11:00 with Fr. Mike DeMartinis officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Erie Humane Society or Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA.
