Elizabeth Bolan

Elizabeth (Betty) M. Bolan, age 93, of Elmwood Gardens, Erie, PA, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014.

She was born in Erie on August 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Martin and Anna Draegert Reuss.

Mrs. Bolan was a graduate of Academy High School, Class of 1938, and Erie Commerical College in 1939.

She was a bookkeeper and worked at Grants, Gibson Accounting, Bob Contich Volkswagen and Porsche-Audi auto dealerships.

She was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church where she had been a teacher, young people’s leader, and a member of the choir.

She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed needlework and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Herbert O. Bolan, in 2002.

She is survived by two sons Charles M. Bolan and his wife Bonnie, Jeffrey A. Bolan and his wife Carol, two daughters, Margaret A. “Peggy” Barnes and her husband James and Catherine L. Myers and her husband David of Palm Harbor, FL, a sister Florence Davis, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Glenwood United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 21st at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend J. Patrick Lenox officiating.
