Elinore Madison McKnight, 90 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 26, 2021. The daughter of John and Thelma Spearman Brooks, Elinore was born on May 29, 1930. Mrs. McKnight was a graduate of String Vincent High School and a former member of St. James AME Church and the Daughters of the Sphinx, Gleaner Court #1 in Youngstown, OH and Queen Esther Chapter # 2 Order of the Eastern Star in Hamilton, Oh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John (Jack) Brooks (Germany) and Thelma “Tut” Brooks Germany, her brother Freddick Membres Bynum, Rosalyn “Peggy” Baker, a daughter, Kimberly Madison, a son, Vincent “Mad Dog” Madison, and a grandson, Zion Madison.
Mrs. McKnight is survived by her son Rodney Madison, a daughter, Jackie Madison Thomas, and her only niece, Dwana Membres; nine grandchildren, Ashley Madison, Vincent Madison Jr., Tyler Madison, Stephanie, Jennifer, and Sandy Houston, Vanesha Madison, Keenan Madison, Aneessa Madison Thomas, and several great-grandchildren, a multitude of nephews and many friends.
Come celebrate her life and legacy on June 5, 2021 at Abundant Life Ministries, 806 Parade Street. Public viewing is from 10:00-12:00 and her homegoing celebration at 12:00. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery. The service officiate and eulogist will be Pastor Ryan Gaines. Services are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown 602 W. 10th Street, Erie.
