Eli Adams

October 10, 1927 — February 23, 2013

Eli J. Adams age 85, of Erie, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Erie with his wife by his side.

He was born in Girard on October 10th, 1927, the son of the late Stephen J. and Verona K. Licsko Adams.

Eli attended St. Mary's Elementary School, graduated Conneaut, OH High School, Class of 1945 and Gannon College, night classes from 1955 thru 1961.

He was employed at Lord Corporation as a personnel Manager for 25 years and a Manager of Employee Benefits for 13 years.

He served in the United States Army.

Eli was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, and active member of the American Legion Post 0742, Fairview, PA and a member and officer of the Personnel Association of NWPA.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, flower gardening and watching sporting events on TV. Eli also received the Distinguished Service Citizen award in 1965.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Irenen Hazen, a brother Thomas Adams and a daughter-in-law Cindy Adams.

He is survived by wife Betty English Adams of 62 years; his brother James E. Adams and wife Shirley of Sebring, FL; his sister Alice Quinn of Erie; his daughter Terri L. Lintelman and husband Thomas; two sons, Stephen J. Adams and Robert Adams and his wife Nancy all of Erie. He is further survived by his grandchildren Thomas Lintelman and his fiancé Jocelyn Orr, Jessica Francis and husband Jake, Heather Szymcvak and husband Chris, and Andrea Herman and husband Jeremi all of Erie. He is further survived by five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street at Powell Ave. on Tuesday, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm and are invited to attend a prayer service there on Wednesday at 9:15 am. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, at 10:00 am. with Fr. Ted Marconi Celebrant.

Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research at 130 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
