Eleanor Buchkovich

Eleanor( Eugenia Truchan) Buchkovich, age 89, formerly of Chestnut Apartments in Fairview, passed away Friday April 11, 2014 at Pleasant Ridge Manor West.

She was born in Wilkensburg, PA on September 27, 1924 the daughter of the late Alex and Mary Soklowska Truchan.

Eleanor worked at Marx Toys and was a member of Holy Cross Church, St. Matthews in the Woods Catholic Church, TriBoro Senior Center and Summit Senior Center. She loved doing crafts with beads and made a lot of quilts for friends and family. Her big passion was gardening. She took pride in her vegetable and flower gardens and was always buying and trading plants.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Buchkovich; sisters, Helen McGuire, Ida Bailey and a brother, Edward Truchan.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Ehret Nadolny and her husband James of Fairview; three sons: Paul Buchkovich and his wife Shirley of Ocala, FL., Steve Buchkovich and his wife Laura of Tarpon Springs, FL. And Mark Buchkovich and his companion Leslie Hornyak of Erie; sister in law, Mary Truchan of Meadville; twelve grandchildren: Dave Ehret (Debbie), Greg Ehret (Michelle), all of Girard, Becky Osborne (Dan) of Lake City, Larry Ehret (Jodi) of Cranberry Twp., Kristin Hayes (Brian), Rick Masi, Mike Buchkovich, Rusty Buchkovich, Peter Buchkovich and Laurel Buchkovich, all of Florida, Ryan Buchkovich and Jordan Buchkovich of Waterford. She is further survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
