Elaine Louise Hinkle

Elaine Louise Hinkle, 100, of Fairview, PA, passed away on Monday May 22, 2023, at Manchester Commons.

She was born on August 1, 1922, on the family homestead in Franklin Township, Edinboro, PA. Elaine graduated from Edinboro High School in 1940 and worked at Lord Manufacturing, General Electric, and Marx Company.  She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.  Elaine enjoyed spending time at the hunting camp in Spring Creek, sewing, crocheting, counted cross stitch and working in her yard.

Elaine married Amos G. Hinkle on October 28, 1943, and they were married 62 years until his death in 2005.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Leon L. Mills, and Iva Vogt Mills, as well as two sisters, Lucile Mills Lawrence, and Carolyn Mills Gebhardt, and four brothers, Elwin Mills, Everett Mills, Merle Mills and Maurice Mills.

Elaine is survived by two sons, Vincent A. Hinkle (Dianne) of Edinboro, and Dwight M. Hinkle of Granite Falls, NC and Debbie Hinkle of Hickory, NC; one granddaughter, Kelly Hinkle Gresh, (Timothy) of Inwood, WV; and one grandson, Korey V. Hinkle (Brenda) of Jefferson Hills, PA. Elaine had six great grandchildren; Madison, Abigale and Jonathan Gresh and Brayden, Tyler, and Austin Hinkle.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Wednesday May 24, 2023, from 11:30am until the time of service at 12:30pm.  Burial to follow at Sterrettania Cemetery.
