Elaine Barner

Elaine M. Sabol Barner age 85, of Lake City, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Millcreek Community Hospital.

She was born in Girard on May 2, 1932 daughter of Andrew and Anna Evans Sabol.

She was a LPN at Pleasant Ridge many years ago. She loved farming, working with her family at Barner’s Farm Market and working the Farmer’s Market at the West Erie Plaza. She had been a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Girard. She enjoyed Baking, cooking, and gardening. She loved all her pets of all kinds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, C. Clifford Barner in 1994, six sisters: Marian, Margaret, Agnes, Ann, Julia, and Ethel; four brothers: Albert, Frank, Rudy, and Andy.

She is survived by two sons: Dean Barner and his wife Marie of Erie; Kenneth Barner and his wife Lisa of Cranesville; a daughter, Linda Gulics and her husband Michael of Fort Lauderdale, FL., three sisters in law: Lorane Barner of Saegertown, Jean and Betty Sabol, both of Girard; seven grandchildren: Faith, Hope, Rex, Sara, Hannah, Haley, and Hannah; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street, East, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. and are invited to attend a service there Friday at 11am with Rev. Michael Ferrick celebrant.

Burial will be private at St John’s Cemetery, Girard.
