Edwin Clark

August 2, 1932 — May 9, 2015

Edwin Eugene Clark age 82, of Erie, died Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Manor Care Health Services. He was born in Indiana, PA on August 2, 1932, a son of the late Jay and Zola Hamilton Clark. After graduating from Harbor Creek High School in 1950, Ed joined the US Army. Following his service he worked for more than fifty years as an appliance repairman with Lejeals which became Harry Mueller Repair. He was also a member of the Erie and Crawford County State Police and was Captain for a year. Ed had an amazing ability to fix almost anything and did so with great enthusiasm. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. But one of his greatest joys came from making wooden toys for children and then waiting for that special moment to randomly give that toy away to a child who least expected it. He would light up with a smile when he saw their surprise. He will be remembered fondly by many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Pratt, a brother, Arnold Clark and a sister, Lois Huff. He is survived by his wife Elsie along with a son, Edwin E. Clark Jr. and five grandchildren; Ryan Pratt of Findley Lake, NY, Violet Gard (Dave) of Ripley, NY, Christopher Pratt (Samantha) of Lima, OH, Sarah Caram (Tim) of Waterford, PA and Stephanie Clark of Erie. He also leaves eight great grandchildren, a brother, Richard Clark (Maryjane) of Erie as well as many nieces and nephews also remain. The family would like to thank the staff at Manor Care Health Services and Heartland Hospice for the kind care they provided to Ed.
