Edward Sidelinger

Edward C. Sidelinger, 91, 0f Erie, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Independence Court of Erie.

He was born on February 3, 1925, son of the late Clayton C. and Marion (Spagler) Sidelinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne (Kazimierowski) Sidelinger in 2007, a grandson, Scott Sidelinger, two brothers, John W. and Clifford C. Sidelinger, and a sister, Joan Marie Sidelinger.

Edward retired from G.E. where he was a foreman and served as a Union Steward. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the American Legion Carl Neff Post 571, and was a former Assistant Scout Master for Troop 37.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, member of Ducks Unlimited and enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp with his family.

Edward is survived by five children, David Sidelinger of Corry, Pa., Dennis Sidelinger (Joanne) of Union City, Pa., Thomas Sidelinger (Lori) of Schellsburg, Pa., Susan Miller and her significant other Randy of Bedford, Pa., and Sharon Feinstein (Larry) of Presque Isle, Maine. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510. Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Catholic Church 2635 Buffalo Road at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery with full Military honors provided by Erie/Crawford Veteran's Detail.
