Edward Schmidt

Edward A. Schmidt, age 48, of Erie, passed away suddenly at his home , on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.

He was born February 17, 1967, a son of the late Betty Lou Morrison and Samuel Schmidt.

After graduation from Strong Vincent High School in 1985, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He was a Master Electrician for the Army Corp. of Engineers. Edward loved and cherished his family. He always found great joy in nature and the peace that came along with it. He loved to camp, fish, hunt and sit around a campfire. His favorite pastime was playing softball. Edward was a very dedicated person and very hard worker. He was a member of American Legion Post #773.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his three daughters Jessica, Shannon, and Katelynn Schmidt; two granddaughters Brooke Anne Phillips and Kylar Ranae Powell, all of Erie PA. He is also survived by his loving Fiancé, Jami Kettle; stepson, Nathan Southworth, a sister, Ann Marie Fitzsimmons and her husband Stephen; a nephew Jason; and nieces Meghan and Ashlyn Fitzsimmons.

Friends may call at Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd Erie, PA 16510, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday at 10 am, in the All Faith Chapel, with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating.
