Edward J. Malinowski age 77, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Beaver Falls, PA.
He was born in Erie on June 30, 1938 a son of the late Anthony and Sophia Napierkowski Malinowski.
Ed graduated from Erie Technical High School and went on to work at GTE Telephone for over 40 years as a lineman and then an engineer.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church and a member of the Holy Name Society there.
He enjoyed golfing, playing in many leagues, Bicycling, playing cards, and spending many mornings at Nautilus with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Froess Malinowski in 2013.
He is survived by; four daughters, Laura Fonseca and her husband Arnold, Karen Pappan and her husband Demetrious, Susan Luschini and her husband Mark and Elizabeth Freeman and her husband Scott; a son Edward J. Malinowski and his wife Kim; 17 grandchildren; and four siblings, Jean Roberson, Anthony Malinowski, Barbara Preston, and Donald Malinowski. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Holy Cross Church, 7100 West Ridge Road, Fairview, PA 16415 on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Tyler officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Emmaus Soup Kitchen, 218 East 11th Street, Erie, PA 16503, or to the Erie City Mission, 1023 French Street, Erie, PA 16501.
