Edward William Light

Edward William Light of Erie, Pennsylvania passed away on the afternoon of Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital due to complications sustained from a cardiac event. Ed was 65 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Light (Baney), his father James Light, and the mother of his younger children Lisa McCain (Wienczkowski). 

Ed is survived by his 3 children Chris Light, Bryan Light, and Kelsey Light, sisters LuAnn Artigues (Bertrand), Nadine Wittenburg, Becky Suchy, brothers Jim Light and Marty Light (Chandra), grandchildren Sydney, Lincoln, and Jasper, and many other loved ones.

Ed was a practical man and an exceptional craftsman. He enjoyed taking on new projects, engineering things to make them more efficient, and coming up with new “million dollar ideas.” He enjoyed camping, watching his 49ers play, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a great fireside companion and could always make people laugh. Ed loved his music—always listening to classic rock and metal. He was a drummer at heart and was never off beat. Some may know him as Ed, Eddie, Eddie Joe, Eddie Bill, Edbert, Mr. Ed, Fast Ed, Uncle Head, and Head Light, but his favorite was Daddio, which was given to him by his beloved daughter, Kelsey.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the hard working team in the CNICU at St. Vincent Hospital, who ensured his comfort as well as theirs.
