Edward Kocher

Edward C. Kocher, age 87, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at UPMC Hamot.  

He was born in Aliquippa, PA on April 26, 1934 to the late Clare William  and Laverne (Beynon) Kocher.

He graduated from Aliquippa High School and went on to Georgia Tech where he received his engineering degree.  Ed worked for General Electric as an Electrical Engineer for over 30 years. After retirement, he continued to pursue his love for bowling and golf. 

Ed was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church where he volunteered on many committees over the years. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the Erie Northwest Jaycees.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Beynon Kocher.

Edward is survived by a son, David A. (Patrice Lubomski), a daughter, Holly K. Coy (Glenn Ybanez), a sister, Dorothy Symons (Harvey) of Columbiana, OH, his former wife, Roberta Kocher, two grandchildren: Jordan Coy and Lauren Kocher, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may attend a memorial service on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m, at the Asbury United Methodist Church 4703 W. Ridge Rd, Erie, PA 16506. 

Funeral Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services 3801 W. 26th Street, Erie, PA 16506.
