Edward H. "Red" Foll, 88, of Erie, died on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1929, in Erie, son of the late Helge Frederick Foll and Alice E. Nelson Foll Smith. A 1947 graduate of East High School, he was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served as a sergeant with the U.S. Army. Red was a Union Electrician for IBEW No. 56 for 40 years, retiring in 1993. He had also worked for General Electric and Keystone Electric, and was an usher at the Warner Theatre. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church and had been a long time member of the former of Bethany Lutheran Church. Red was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and fly tying, duck hunting, rabbit hunting, and raising beagles. He was a member of the Erie Skeet Club, Gem City Outdoorsmen Club, S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie, Northwest Pa. Duck Hunter's Association, and American Legion Millcreek Post 773.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith M. Mastrey Foll; brother, Frederick Foll; sister, Shirley E. McGill; grandson, Roman Foll; and stepfather, Edgar W. Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Johnson of Erie and Diedre Foll of Edinboro, Pa.; two sons, Edward C. Foll and wife Gina and Richard N. Foll, all of Erie; his dear friend, Jean N. Bigelow of Girard; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street. A service will be held there Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Erik Young officiating. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Erie Crawford County Burial Detail.
