Edward H. Bernritter, 83, of Waterford Twp., died Friday, January 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 14, 1928, in Erie, son of the late Christopher E. and Mabel Vogt Bernritter. He was a graduate of McKean High School and worked for General Electric for 20 years. More recently, Mr. Bernritter was a carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 81, retiring after 40 years. He was a member St. Peter's Lutheran Church, a volunteer fire fighter for McKean Fire Dept. for many years, enjoyed gardening, and was an avid hunter.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth Catalde Bernritter; four daughters, Sharon Bernritter and Diane Roesch and husband Larry, all of Erie, Linda Bernritter of Waterford and Debra Starvaggi and husband Rick of North East; a son, Mark Bernritter of Clearwater, FL; a sister, Audrey Baran of Erie; four grandchildren, Larry and Jeff Roesch, Billy Starvaggi and Derrick Mukina; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy Helinski and Joan Bernritter; and a brother, Robert Bernritter.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
