Eddie Johnson

Eddie Mae Johnson, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 18, 2015 at home surrounded by family.

She was born in Hattiesburg, MS. On September 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Eddie Houston and Eva Houston-McCullum.

A resident of Erie since 1945, she worked various jobs and was later employed at General Electric where she retired in 1985 after seventeen years of service.

Eddie Mae accepted the Lord at an early age and had been a member of Shiloh Baptist Missionary Church. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, loved the outdoors and going for rides in the country. She truly enjoyed music, especially Mahalia Jackson and Elvis Presley. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda R. Johnson; a sister, Elnora Posey; three brothers: Otis, Curtis and Earlie McCullum.

Eddie Mae leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Patricia Roberts, Etta Pulliam and Irene (Ellis) Crockett. She is further survived by eight grandchildren: Anita Diggs, Felicia Presley, Jerome Roberts, Ellis Crockett, Jr., Jamila Crockett, Rasia Crockett, Brenda Pulliam and Jamie Roberts; fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th St. in Erie, on Thursday from 10 a.m until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Bishop Clifton McNair III officiating.
