Earvel Lee(Ervie; Ervin; E.L.)Crenshaw, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, June 18, 2015, at St Mary’s Home East.
Earvel Lee was born in Greenville AL on August 1, 1928, a son of the late Leston and Plummie( Davidson) Crenshaw.
Earvel Lee was a hardworking man who retired after many years as the owner and operator of Crenshaw Trucking and Disposal and previously worked at Hudson Garage and the General Electric Co. in Erie PA. He always opened his home to those in need- family, friends and strangers. He lived in Erie until he sold his business in June 1991, after which, he returned to his birth home, in Greenville Alabama, to do what he loved to do the most- farming and raising cattle and horses. He enjoyed riding his horses, especially his horse Windy, and won several competitions as a member of the Riding Boys Club. Earvel Lee accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church before he moved back to Greenville.
In addition to his parents, Earvel Lee was preceded in death by five sisters and a brother.
He leaves to cherish his memory five sons: Reverend Ricky Lee(Stacy) Crenshaw of Bay Minette AL, Deacon Donald(Toni) Crenshaw and Norman Crenshaw both of Erie PA , Kenneth Crenshaw of Phoenix Arizona, and Reverend Kelsey(Terry) Crenshaw of Columbus OH; one brother Rufus(Addie) Crenshaw of Montgomery AL, two sisters Claddie Mae Pitts of Birmingham AL and Bernice Herbert of Greenville AL; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one Godchild, Rickeya Franklin, and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call at Shiloh Baptist Church 901 East 5th St on Monday June 22 from 4-8PM with sermonette done by Pastor Kelsey V. Crenshaw of Beautiful Gates of Zion. Burial will take place in Greenville AL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Shiloh Baptist Church.
