Earlean Lomax, age 83, of Erie, died February 22, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Kent, Mississippi on March 20, 1931 a daughter of the late Walter and Adline J. Webster Johnson.
Earlean had worked at Buffalo Molded Plastics as a machinist and then worked in Child Care at Saint Vincent Hospital for 30 years. Earlean was an avid bowler; she loved her family. She was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church and was a Sister of Oziel Grand Chapter Temple #317 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Butler, two sons, Roy R. Brewton and Jimmy P. Johnson; two sisters Willie Roberts and Jarlean J. Harris; brothers, Perry Williams, Walter Johnson and Jesse James George; and a son-in-law, Lester James Young, Sr.
Earlean is survived by her husband, Jimmy L. Lomax they were together for over 50 years. She is also survived by five sons, Charles Brewton (Samella), Kenny Brewton (Tina), Tony Johnson, Ronny Lomax and Jimmy E. Johnson (Darla); five daughters, Lucille Brewton, Emily Johnson, Darlean (Momma Dar) Young, Valerie Johnson and Dawn M. Johnson. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; a brother, John Johnson, of Virginia and a sister, Alvina Dantzler, of Erie and a dear friend Judy Tate.
Friends may call at the Morning Star Baptist Church 327 East 23rd Street on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Amos Goodwine eulogizing and the Reverend D. F. Hunter officiating.
Burial will be private.
