Earl A. Vanderhoof, age 88, passed away, Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Fairview Manor.
He was born in Titusville, on October 10, 1926, a son of the late Walter and Pearl Foster Vanderhoof.
Earl was raised and educated in Spartansburg. As a young man, he served with the U.S. Army in the occupational forces in Germany after WWII. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Corry and worked at Corry Jamestown Corporation many years until his retirement. He was an avid reader, loved to walk his dogs and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Norma Wright Beers Vanderhoof; two sisters, Gertrude Wright and Ethel Roberts; and five brothers: Theodore, Albert, Richard, Howard and Wayne Vandherhoof, who died in infancy.
Earl is survived by his children, John Vanderhoof, Don Vanderhoof, Sue Vanderhoof Beers and Brenda Cioffi; two step-sons, Russell M. Beers and Raymond W. Beers; a brother, David Vanderhoof of North Olmsted, Ohio; he is further survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, in Girard, on Thursday from 4 pm until the time of the service, at 7pm, with Reverend Frank Hodges officiating.
