E. Jean Gillespie Davidson, age 84, of Erie, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at St. Vincent Health Center.
Born in Ellwood City, PA on July 31st, 1927, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Anna Mae Wyke Gillespie.
She graduated from Strong Vincent High School, class of 1945. She worked as a receptionist, secretary and was a part owner of Gillespie Machine and Tool Company. She was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church, Simpson United Methodist Church and Cascade United Methodist Church. Jean sang in all the choirs and did soloing for other groups. Jean enjoyed bowling, playing cards, playing tennis and the Arts.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Davidson; her son, Mark Alan Davidson, her siblings, Howard Gillespie and wife Theresa, Carl Gillespie and wife Gerry, William Gillespie and wife Irene, Sherman Gillespie and wife Doris, Loretta Waterstredt and husband Neil, Emma Martin and husband Bill and Clyde Gillespie.
She is survived by her children, Jay Davidson of Erie, Craig Davidson and wife Becky of North East, PA and daughter-in-law, Katherine Davidson of Erie.
She is further survived by twenty grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons and one great-great-grandaughter and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 602 West 10th Street from 7pm to 9 pm on Thursday and from 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm on Friday and are invited to a service there Saturday at 11:00 with Reverend Harry Johns III officiating.

Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
