Duane Wetick

Duane “Doc” Wetick, age 75, passed away at home on Thursday, December 28, 2023, following a long illness. He was born in Butler, PA on June 16, 1948, a son to the late Peter and Marian Pavlosky Wetick.

Duane was a graduate of Butler High School and Penn State University, where he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. He moved to the Erie area in the 1970’s to work at Copes Vulcan, followed by Uniflow and Eriez Magnetics for 22 years until his retirement.  He was an avid fisherman and lived in Fairview to be near Lake Erie and the fish. He was affectionately known as “Doc” to his friends and family due to how much time he spent enjoying his fishing boat and Walnut Creek Marina.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Wetick.

Duane is survived by his wife of 36 years, Martha Pfister Wetick; his children, Daniel Wetick of Fairview, and Amanda Namey (Samuel) of Cranberry, PA.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417.
