Duane Colvin

Duane E. “Eddie” Colvin, age 78, of Erie, PA passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at AHN Saint Vincent.  

He was born in Meadville, PA on July 25, 1944, son of the late Reginald Colvin and Catherine L. Reisinger Colvin Abbott.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Diane M. Knapp, in October of 2016.

He was a 1963 graduate of Academy High School and went on to serve in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Tulare at San Diego, CA. He worked for the EMTA for 26 years, retiring in 2006 where he made many friends and acquaintances.

Eddie loved listening to country and oldies music and was known as the “human juke box” by his family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and the Boston Celtics. Eddie enjoyed fishing, playing cards and taking trips to the casino. His great sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all.

Duane is survived by his three children: Dale I. Knapp (Julie M. Craciun), Douglas M. Knapp (fiancé Stephany Kramer) and Corina M. Martinson (Matthew); six grandchildren, Cynthia Beebe, Kayla Kindle, Zachary Martinson, Jacob Martinson, Lindsey Knapp, Dylan Knapp; two great grandchildren, Grayson and Paisley; brother, Wayne Reisinger (Sandy); a sister, Sue Wickramasinghe (Eardly); a niece and five nephews and his best friend since 6^th grade, Tom Litz (Barb). He is further survived by his loyal canine companion, Cookie.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26^th Street, on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by full Military Honors.
